Our client is the European sales and service company of a global manufacturer of construction machinery. Sales, service and maintenance are provided by a European network of dealers. For the sales, support and development of the sales region Italy, we are looking for an ambitious Area Sales Manager for the product division port handling machines.

Your Main Tasks

  • Implementation of sales strategies in coordination with the responsible Business Manager
  • Acquisition and support of end customers and trade partners
  • Identification and definition of market and customer requirements and coordination with product management
  • Market and competition studies
  • Planning, preparation and implementation of coordination meetings with trade partners
  • Processing and follow-up of tenders
  • Demonstrations and training sessions with end customers and trade partners
  • Participation in trade fairs and collaboration in marketing activities


Your Profile


  • A degree in technical studies or business administration
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in the sales of port handling equipment and, if possible, a corresponding network in the field of port logistics
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Independent, self-motivated and reliable way of working
  • Good practical experience in preparing and negotiating tenders
  • Very good MS-Office skills
  • Experience with CRM systems
  • French and Italian (fluent)

    Ihre Aufgaben

    • Führung und Weiterentwicklung des verteilt arbeitenden Vertriebsteams
    • Steuerung und Entwicklung des Geschäftes mit Grossisten, EKGs und Händlern durch regelmäßige Besuche und gemeinsame Feld-Aktivitäten
    • Strategischer Ausbau des Geschäftes mit Krankenhaus-Strukturen
    • Koordination und Monitoring von vertrieblichen Aktivitäten der Handels-Partner

    • Regelmäßiges Controlling der Vertriebsaktivitäten und -situation sowie der Budgetlage

    Ihr Profil

    • Erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium mit Schwerpunkt Marketing / Vertrieb
    • Mehr als 10 Jahre Berufs- und mehr als 4 Jahre Führungserfahrung in einer Vertriebs-Rolle
    • Leidenschaft und Lust am Verkaufen und der Mitarbeiterführung
    • Kommunikations- und Überzeugungsstärke auf GF-Ebene
    • Strategisch-analytische Fähigkeiten, gepaart mit Hands-on Umsetzungs-Mentalität
    • Substanzielle Erfahrung im Vertrieb von medizintechnischen Produkten, idealerweise an Krankenhäuser
    • Idealerweise Erfahrung mit Software-Komponenten als Teil des Produktspektrums

    • Experience in B2B sales management (channel sales)
    • Authentic team leader and manager
    • Passionate about quality and client relationships
    • Fluent in Dutch and English, French language skills are an advantage

    Your responsibilities


    • Identifies and acquires new customers from the biotech industry, CROs / CDMOs, universities, medical centers and compound pharmacies
    • Leads sales pitch for new digital / biotech opportunities and skillfully negotiates new deals and price changes.
